Flame
The hot brightness,
It is luminescence and warmth.
It gives life and tears it away.
Flickering at every slight movement of air,
It consumes oxygen and farts out carbon dioxide.
It expands the air slowly,
Decreasing its density.
It requires fuel,
Wax,
Wood,
Flesh.
It casts night into darkness,
And darkness into black.
Ode to flame.
