Our moonless night
Like a dream, the night carried on.
Ups and downs as much as is to be expected,
But Goodness reigned as King.
Then, as though pulling off the road was a symbol of that moment,
There was Peace, in that instant out of time.
The stars brighter than ever,
The night, chilly, drawing us close,
The wind in the trees gentle and calming,
The lake of cloud, subtle, yet beautiful on this,
Our moonless night.
The world around was just out of clarity,
Isolating us as observers.
The wonderful beauty of God's creation was all around us,
And was standing yet beside me.
Our arms around each other in a lasting embrace,
We dared to hold onto our Peace,
Lest it desire to fly too soon.
And as a river flowing, time pressed on.
Our eddy of solitude drew to an end,
And Goodness continued to reign as King.
