The Evenings Turn Early
The time has returned
For pants, sweaters,
Shoes, jackets.
Time for hot coffee,
Perhaps a fire.
Days for people to be alone.
In dark evenings,
Solicitude with their thoughts.
Time for beach bonfires,
With eyes alighted with more than the flames glow.
Evenings of gloomy skies
And gleaming lights
Knowing cold again
And feeling warm deep, deep down.
Cloudy skies
Slow walks in the rain.
