First warm afternoon
Calming splendor of sunshine dreams,
All alight upon my soul
Bringing joy from within.
The spirit-healing rays fill me with inner light.
The cool grass soothes my road weary feet.
Tickling my toes
Poking between them.
The light breeze feathers my skin, hair
Reminding me of my continued existence
Birds twittering about brings my consciousness without,
Refreshing myself, my being
A piece of the whole.
Slowly, the shade pulls over my like a comforter,
Soothing my thoughts with its unending cadence.
Calling to the forefront the truth
There still exists a world around us.
Today I am the man I wonder existed while at work,
At home, in winter
In despair.
The man who lives within nature,
Knowing and living personally, daily.
Communing, exchanging
Life to life, deep to deep.
