The importance of the how is easily twice that
of the what and the why, though they are just as important as the foundation
to a house, but it's the roof and walls that keep the rain out. If the
practical how is not known or cannot be clearly expressed, then the what
and the why are nearly meaningless. If something cannot be lived because
it is not clearly understood then one seek with perseverance to understand.
How then, does one know the how? Those who have been forced to be adventurers
and those who have unusual will can sometimes give the how, though most
don't really understand. Knowing the how is partially dependant on knowing
the why. The why inspires and encourages. The why, most times, gives motivation,
but usually when the answer to the how is "just do it." But
what about the answer to "how do I change the very essence of my
being to something I know in my mind as being good though my flesh sees
it as boring and lacking in pleasure giving aspects?" The answer
to those is usually to take things one step at a time. But, what then
is the first step and how does one take it?
Whether simple or complex, the how is nearly always a progress. It is
a journey into the unknown. It is taking a step on a bridge over a waterfall
on a pea soup foggy day heading toward the visible lights of home. One
can see the next step most times, but sometimes one is blind as a bat.
If one knows where one is going, then the goal must be kept in front of
the eyes.
In conclusion, the how is mostly to just do it one step at a time. The
answer is to have courage. The mind has control of the emotions. If the
next step is not known, ask someone who has been there before. If no one
has the knowledge then one must be an adventurer into the realm of the
unknown and will probably only succeed after many stumblings and fallings.
But then the knowledge is known and must be shared for the sake of the
others.
Other thoughts:
The how still remains.
Is the how really important to know in advance or is the discovering of
the how
the essential part in the purposes of God?
The growth is in the learning and the being and the changing.
